Kelly and Erik’s Private Residence Maine Wedding
I didn’t really know what to expect when I went to Kelly and Erik’s wedding in Manchester Maine, on Cobboseecontee lake. It took place on a Thursday, and was relatively small (around 60 guests), and I figured it would be a relatively quiet affair- maybe some light dancing, but otherwise a pretty low-key wedding. But oh, was I wrong! It turned out that Kelly and Erik, among many of their friends, are Burning Man enthusiasts and thus know how to have a good time. After a beautiful ceremony and lobster bake (headed by Stone Cove Catering), I saw many of their guests tear it up on the dance floor, especially Wes, who may be one of my favorite wedding guests of all-time (seen falling hilariously on the dance floor below :) ), but everyone really threw themselves into each song, making my job all the easier.
We had planned for sunset photos, but what we didn’t anticipate was for a natural spotlight to form on the lake, as if nature knew the two of them should be celebrated. Success! And, as if that wasn’t all enough, their wedding day ended with a fireworks show, which dramatically reflected into the lake.
Other awesome vendors included the makeup and hair team, two of my favorite beauty vendors in the state- Colleen Griffin of Aphrodite Salon and Ariel Johnson.
I don’t normally include behind the scenes photos, but make sure to check out the photo of me lying down on the dance floor for a photo, taken by my fabulous second photographer, Ashley. It’s always worth the risk for the photo! :)
Enjoy!
