Why husbands are awesome
As many photographers know, one of the bonuses to having a husband is having a model on hand for practicing.
Of course, you’ve got to be lucky to have one that doesn’t mind getting in front of the camera. And while Tony, my husband, isn’t begging for me to take his picture, he’s a willing model, and I love him for it. It allows me to try out new ideas before I work with clients and models, and while I’ll sometimes try these ideas out on myself (which I’ll talk about in an upcoming post!), taking self-portraits takes a lot of time and isn’t as easy as practicing on someone else.
Tony and I traveled to Ellsworth yesterday where we saw a taping of The National Theatre of London’s rendition of Frankenstein. Even though I have a master’s in English I have somehow never read Frankenstein, so I was pretty excited to see it. Since it was an excellent play, I’m chomping at the bit to read Tony’s copy of the novel.
But anyway, we had some time to kill in Ellsworth, and why not use that time to my advantage?
My husband is awesome, and I think the camera definitely likes him as well. I’m lucky.
