Portland Museum of Art Maine Wedding | Bri & Alex

Bri and Alex’s Portland Maine wedding was unique because they didn’t have it at one of the usual wedding venues in the city- rather, they chose to have their wedding at the Portland Museum of Art where the two of them visit often, which felt delightfully unique and the right choice for their big day.  Their wedding day was all about having a great experience– from Bri’s gorgeous getting ready suite, to their unique ceremony location, and their reception setup that was perfect for lounging and crazy dancing, their wedding was one I’m sure their friends and family (and I!) will never forget.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from their wedding day, and as always I’ll share more below!

Bri’s wedding dress was Vera Wang and absolutely fabulous!  Isn’t that view incredible?  Bri and her friends and family got ready at the Westin Portland Harborview, which was the perfect place to get ready– lots of window light and a very pretty, modern space.

Bri was nervous about her vows because Alex has a MFA in poetry and was worried hers wouldn’t compare.  But both of theirs were, in my opinion,  just right.

The bathtub served as a mini pool for the flowergirls :)

Nothing like some soft, directional light from a big window for bridal portraits!  Bri was stunning!  Her bouquet is by Harmons and Bartons.

We all took a fun walk from the Westin to the Portland Museum of Art, where we ran into a few guests and random strangers who shared congratulatory words.

I love an adventurous flowergirl, especially if she’s in a fluffy gown!  Hudson, can you be a flowergirl at all of my weddings?

The ceremony was gorgeous and took place in the Portland Museum of Art under a piece of art that had been in Alex’s father’s art collection.

We took a few portraits inside the museum, and then headed outside to the tent to join cocktail hour.

I was thrilled to find out that Model Airplane would be playing at Bri and Alex’s wedding as I’ve heard their name mentioned a lot recently, and they did not disappoint.  Their dance floor was crowded, excited, and ready to party.  There’s nothing like an amazing band to get a dance floor moving!

After their silly and mildly messy cake cutting, it was suggested that Alex and Bri go into their first dance, because what’s better than a first dance with cake on your face?

What a fun wedding!  Thank you for letting me capture your big day, Bri and Alex– you two are so much fun and it was a pleasure!
