Emily and Alex's Wells Reserve at Laudholm Wedding

Emily and Alex’s wedding day, which took place at Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine, stole my heart, mostly because they so carefully constructed it to showcase what they value and love. The pair didn’t have a wedding party, but they invited their closest friends to write and share toasts, all of which were touching and meaningful in their own way (I was partial to the one that featured Beaker- you’ll see what I mean below). They purposefully had a longer ceremony, in which their parents and grandparents were able to share wisdom that had everyone laughing and crying, sometimes even at the same time. Even dinner was meaningful- it was a delicious vegetarian meal prepared by Dandelion Catering. Perhaps best of all, Emily and Alex delighted everyone when their first dance wasn’t a slow one, but was goofy and fun, throwing out epic dance moves with wild abandon. My favorite part of the evening may have been the dance floor, headed by Ripcord– it was so crowded with energetic friends and family that it was exceptionally fun to photograph.
