Natalie’s Central Maine Senior Portrait Session
I am all for playful portraits, so when I emailed Natalie’s mom, Jen, to make a few suggestions for Natalie’s senior portraits, I suggested she end her session by doing something in the water- walking in, or perhaps canoeing. And, much to my delight, Natalie gamely walked right into Camp Runoia‘s beach, despite it not being the warmest day. I joined her, and like the best kind of photo miracle, the sun gently broke through the rather thick cloud cover, spotlighting Natalie against the trees and helping to create a beautiful reflection in the water. Still my beating heart!
Natalie is from Kansas and has attended Camp Runoia for years, and she’s always joined each year by her mom, who runs the equestrian program. Since Natalie’s senior year was cut short, the pair traveled up to Maine early, where they’ve spent several months attending to the horses and taking care of them, and have been preparing for the camp to open up. Camp Runoia is one of the few camps in the state that will be welcoming campers, although the number of precautions being taken ensures that it should be a safe experience for all (lots of testing and quarantining!).
I had so much fun with Natalie- from spending time with horses, to playing with the water, her session was a blast. Here’s a few of my favorites from our time together. Enjoy!
