Ariel & Mike’s Intimate Acadia Wedding
Barkley, Ariel and Mike’s pup, wagged his tail furiously after his parents had shared their first kiss, and he stood at attention. It was as if he was aware that something important had just happened. His parents, after all, were now married!
Ariel and Mike’s families gathered on the cliffs in Acadia on a sunny and seasonably warm and sunny day to watch their intimate wedding ceremony unfold. They shared sweet vows, cultural wedding traditions (the breaking of the glass and a Hong Bao ceremony), and the beautiful landscape, dotted with pine trees.
After some cuddly portraits with Barkley and the rest of the family, we left to take portraits at a few spots around Acadia National Park. Ariel, who wore practical sequin Keds, was down to do almost anything (the best attitude to have in Acadia!), and even climbed down a rather obnoxious rocky path for the first photo in this blog post (it was worth it, right?). And Mike was always by her side, helping her when her dress was making it hard to get to certain spots, and gently removing bugs that had been caught by Ariel’s voluminous tulle dress.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from Ariel and Mike’s elopement. Enjoy!
