Award Winning 2024 WPJA Wedding Photos

While the previous blog post features my personal favorite wedding and elopement photos from 2024, this selection of photos are photos that placed in the WPJA (the Wedding Photojournalist Association) this year. This organization hosts multiple competitions a year focused on wedding photos that are completely candid, as well as Artistic Guild competitions, which allows for staged, posed work (typically portraits). I particularly love the WPJA competition because the judges are all working photojournalists themselves, it’s gratifying to have my work acknowledged by such incredible pros whose work I admire. I fell in love with documentary wedding photography early in my career- while creating beautiful portraits is fun, there is nothing I love more than capturing candid moments nicely. It’s not easy, but it’s exciting when I capture something that makes my heart pitter patter with emotion.

I am thrilled to share that I placed 28th in the world for the 2024 WPJA competition, and 6th in the world for the Artistic Guild competition! Below are the photos that placed in these two competitions over the course of 2024. Enjoy!
