Nicole & Beau’s Acadia Forest Elopement
There’s something sweet about eloping in Acadia in the late spring- the park is a little bit quieter, the days are long, and the temperatures are usually perfect, so I was thrilled when Nicole and Beau decided to elope in mid June in Acadia National Park. Most of my couples decide to have their ceremonies by the water, so I was intrigued when Nicole and Beau asked if I could recommend a spot in the woods. While Acadia is best known for its cliffs, there are lots of lovely woodsy spots around the park, and a few locations immediately came to mind.
Nicole, Beau, and I started with portraits on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic, and then, once they had gathered their kids, Grey and Eli, we did a short and easy hike to a wooded spot where Nicole and Beau hosted their ceremony. Afterwards, we walked to a nearby rocky beach, where we climbed some cliffs and took more portraits. As we finished out the evening and were leaving the woods, a deer visited us, and it was such a pleasure to watch it quietly navigate around us.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from our time together. Enjoy!
