Onderdonk House Wedding Photographer, New York City | Justine & Scott

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to second shoot a wedding with Justine Johnson Photography in… wait for it… Queens, New York!  To say that I was REALLY EXCITED was a bit of an understatement– although I love Maine weddings (and I plan to stay in Maine!), there’s something rather exciting about getting out of the state and photographing in a new location.  The Onderdonk House, the oldest Dutch Colonial stone house in New York City, definitely didn’t disappoint with its gardens and greenery, a refreshing little oasis in the city.

Justine, an art therapist, and Scott, who is currently earning his doctorate in anthropology, were absolutely adorable and so much fun all day.  But I’ll share more throughout the post– let’s get to the photos!

Justine and Scott got ready at the Box House Hotel in Brooklyn, which is one of the hippest hotels I’ve ever been to.  I’m tempted to stay there the next time I visit the city!

Justine’s tattoos are awesome.

Justine and Scott opted to do a first look in the lobby of the Box House Hotel.  Doesn’t Scott look dapper in that suit?

The Onderdonk house is adorable and romantic– what a lovely place to get married!

If memory serves me correctly, all of the hanging paper cranes were made by a small boy for Justine’s wedding.  When I heard that, I melted.

Justine, Scott, and the witnesses signed the wedding license before the wedding. Justine’s fabulous double fist pump, which is happening here, was repeated throughout the wedding.

I hung out with Justine, Scott, and the bridal party in the ridiculously cool attic, and caught this fun reflection minutes before the ceremony.

Yes, Justine made those people-sized flowers.  Fabulous!

The view of the city from the ceremony site was lovely.

The cake display was amazing.  Amazing!  I’m a huge fan of providing multiple types of cake and desserts at weddings– it adds visual interest and means that there’s bound to be something for everyone.

I adore how Justine and Scott are melting into each others arms during their first dance.

Candace teared up during the speeches.. and I caught it!  You look beautiful here, Candace!
