Acadia National Park Engagement Photography | Ali & Paull
Ali contacted me a few months ago for more information about my services and described her wedding as incorporating Maine, Bermuda, and South Africa all into one night.
To say that I was interested was an understatement. I love unique weddings, and even though I hadn’t heard anything else about the wedding day yet, I knew it was right up my alley and I hoped that our scheduled coffee date would produce sparks. And when I met up with Ali and her delightful mom, Jody (Paull had to stay behind in Bermuda– rough life, eh?), I was hooked on both of them, and I was told, over and over, that I’d be hooked on Paull as well. I don’t think I was able to really breathe until I knew they were going to hire me because I adored the two of them!
Ali grew up in Maine and Paull grew up in South Africa, but both were drawn to Bermuda’s easy breezy lifestyle. The two met there, and once Paull saw Ali in her field hockey uniform it was over for him. The two of them are planning to wed at the Samoset Resort next year, and I’m already counting down the days…
By the way, two fun facts: 1.) Ali has developed a fun, soft British accent from her time in Bermuda, and 2.) Paull has an identical twin! My husband is also a twin! I’ve been told their boutonnieres will be different, so I’ll be able to tell them apart, thank goodness. Perhaps, someday, I should tell you about the time at my wedding where I almost hugged my husband’s twin because they looked so similar in their suits… oops.
Here are a few of my favorites from our time at Sand Beach in Acadia National Park (a great place for portraits– I love the Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor area!)
