Cole & TJ’s Cadillac Mountain Acadia Elopement
Cole and TJ traveled all the way to Maine from Georgia to elope in Acadia National Park on a sunny (albeit mildly cold) day in September. We started with a few portraits at Jordan Pond, and then met TJ’s grandfather, his wife, and Barbara Colby, their wedding officiant, at the top of Cadillac Mountain for their ceremony. We found a secluded spot on the mountain at sunset, and not only were we treated to a sweet ceremony and amusing vows (Cole promised to never lay a finger to TJ’s motorcycle), but gorgeous views as well. Afterwards, we took a few more portraits on what we called “marriage rock,” and I finally left Cole and TJ so that they could celebrate their new marriage with TJ’s grandfather and wife over dinner.
Elopements are such special events to photograph- I love how intimate they feel, and feel so lucky to be a part of them when the guest list is tiny or nonexistent. Here are a few of my favorite portraits and moments from Cole and TJ’s elopement- enjoy!
