Christie and Brett's Freeport Maine Wedding

I ended my wedding season with Christie and Brett at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine. I had been looking forward to their wedding for some time- after all, I had attended their gelato tasting with them before their Cape Elizabeth engagement session and knew, without a doubt, that Gelato Fiasco was going to deliver (news flash- they did. So. Good.), but I had really enjoyed hanging out with the two of them and their very, very happy-go-lucky corgi, Tucker, who random passer-bys treated like a celebrity they had just spotted.

In the days leading up to the wedding, there were a few complications that almost lead to no cake. A nor’easter had run its course through Maine, and thousands of people were without power for a few days. Christie and Brett’s bakery, Scratch Baking Co. (which sell my FAVORITE bagels, by the way- you must try them), were one of the unlucky ones. It seemed possible that Christie and Brett may have to do without a cake, but a couple of employees were able to complete a small cake and enough cupcakes for everyone at one of their houses. Amazing, right?

Other than that, the wedding day was smooth sailing. Guests traveled from all over the country, including Australia, to see Christie and Brett tie the knot. Tucker was the perfect ring bearer pup and walked down the aisle with gusto, and even clowned a bit as he bounced around with his parents during the wedding recessional. He, of course, participated in portraits, and we quickly discovered that he would do just about anything for prosciutto (he has good taste, clearly).

The dance floor was particularly awesome- guests of all ages were up and moving for hours, making my job so much fun. Christie even changed into a second dress, because why not? You might as well have a dress change on your wedding day! :)
