Instagram Friday | NYC
I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for New York City– I’ve been there 6 times in my life, and although I’m more of a country mouse at heart, I adore this big, rambling city that seems to have surprises around every corner. I could never live there, but its marked difference from Maine makes NYC feel like a sort of wonderland that never seems to lose its magic. I’m already planning my next visit back…
This time, I was in the city for business- I second shot a wedding at the Onderdonk House with Justine Johnson Photography (photos to come soon!). There wasn’t much time for sightseeing, so I didn’t take any photos for fun with my DSLR, but I sure did with my iPhone!
As we drove into the city, we were greeted with this amazing view. I kind of lucked out with that bird flying by (but let’s just pretend it’s mad skills).
We stopped into Times Square after dinner because Justine and Kim (Justine’s assistant) had never been into the city before, and I figured they might as well start here. At this point, the rain began, which was somewhat unfortunate.
We didn’t have the opportunity to explore much the next day, due to the rain, but this graffiti in Brooklyn caught my eye. Luckily, the rain stopped for the wedding (which is all that mattered!) :)
The morning before the wedding, we stalked down a Brooklyn waffle food truck named Wafels & Dinges, and my waffle was delicious, decadent, and probably would have made for a better dessert than lunch. I wish we had more food trucks in Maine– there’s only one in Bangor.
I love the residential streets of Brooklyn– I think I could kind of imagine living in this area, but I think I’ll stay in Maine! Nothing like green fields and forest (and no, I’m sorry, but Central Park doesn’t count as nature).
I’ll be posting photos from the Onderdonk House wedding soon– can’t wait to show you how beautiful the wedding was. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, filled with abundant sunshine, big blue skies, and fun! By the way– are you following me on Instagram? :)
