Julie & Scott’s Marianmade Farm Wedding in Wiscasset, Maine
Julie and Scott were originally supposed to wed last August, but opted to postpone their wedding so that they could have the big bash they had been dreaming of. So, on their original wedding date they exchanged ring pops in front of their friends and patiently waited for June 2021. And while I am sure it was hard for them to wait, their wedding at Marianmade Farm, located in Wiscasset, Maine, delivered in spades. It was a PARTY! During getting ready, Julie and her friends danced with glee, while Scott and his wedding party got iced (for those of you not in the know, they partook in Smirnoff Ice). Their food, catered by Calla Catering, was everything. Raw bar? Check. Lo mein in takeout boxes? Check. SUSHI? CHECK. Tacos with margaritas? CHECK CHECK CHECK. A diorama cake of a ski slope featuring personal details about Julie and Scott’s relationship (made by Seth Greenberg’s Just Desserts)? CHEEEEECCCK. It was amazing! I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen such a wide spread of food before at a wedding, and I was here for it.
The party was headed up by Boston’s Clockwork, who sang bop after bop as the night wore on, and Julie’s dad, David, sometimes joined the band and played trumpet. This, as you may guess, DELIGHTED their guests as he shared his skills with family and friends.
One of my favorite small moments that made me really appreciate Julie and Scott’s connection was when I asked Julie to twirl for a photo. Scott said that he’d twirl her only a couple of times but no more, as he knew that two was her limit. This small moment of caring told me so much about their relationship, and it was evident throughout the day how Scott ensured everyone was having a good time and was taken care of.
And, of course, we must discuss the ceremony! The ceremony went well, although Michael, the officiant, (Julie’s brother) may have forgotten to have Julie and Scott exchange rings before the breaking of the glass and their first kiss, so the pair quickly exchanged their rings after the fact, had a second first kiss, walked up the aisle, and laughed about it after the fact.
By the way, Marianmade Farm was a gorgeous place to host a wedding- if you’re planning a wedding here, please contact me. I want to go back ASAP.
