Alisa & Megan's Seal Cove Wedding | Kate Crabtree Photography

Oh, what a weekend! Alisa and Megan invited me to photograph their welcome party and wedding at the Harris Barn, a stunning rental property in Seal Cove, Maine (on MDI). I have always loved this property in Seal Cove- in fact, I photographed a memorable wedding at Harris Barn eleven years ago and hoped I’d get to return, and so I was excited when Alisa and Megan reached out. As someone who loves photographing kids at weddings, I was thrilled to hear that they both had children and were actively including them on their wedding day. Witnessing how these two parented them and how their children interacted with others was such a joy.

While Alisa and Megan had envisioned an outdoor welcome party, the rain meant that we mostly had to spend time indoors, but even still, guests (especially the many kids) explored the sprawling property and made sure to enjoy s’mores at the bonfire. The weather was much better for their wedding day, in which everything went off without a hitch, due to the leadership of Rachel of R.L. Sisson Events. I really enjoyed watching guests explore the grounds during cocktail hour and was not surprised when they congregated around the beautiful saltwater pool (which ended up being the perfect spot for portraits at sunset). I even convinced the two of them to jump into a rowboat for portraits, which was very fun to photograph.
