The Best Maine Engagement Portraits of 2015
It’s one of my favorite times of the year. Not only is the holiday season afoot, but it’s the end of the year- the perfect time to review the couples and engagement sessions I captured this year and painstakingly pick out my favorites from 2015. The photos below come from a variety of different session types– engagement sessions (one including a wedding dress!), couples sessions, a proposal, a couples headshot session, and a day-in-the-life-esque couples session– but all highlight what I’m interested in when capturing a couple. Although I’m particularly drawn to beautiful, scenic backdrops (which Maine certainly has an abundance of- I’m so lucky!) and capturing creative, artful portraits that would look beautiful printed on a large canvas gallery wrap and displayed on a living room wall, my main goal is to capture photos that invoke some sort of feeling and/or memory. I want the viewers of the image to have a sense of who the couple is and how they love, and I want the couple to have a physical reminder of who they were at the time of the photo and how they felt. If my heart flutters when looking at a photo I’ve made, I know I’ve succeeded.
It was exceptionally hard to narrow down these portraits, but I hope you enjoy this collection of favorites from 2015. Next week I’ll be sharing my best wedding, elopement, and vow renewal photos from 2015, which is always my very favorite post of the year!
Happy holidays, all. Enjoy these portraits! If you’d like to see more, here’s a link to my 2015 Maine engagement portrait blog posts.
