Kathryn & Oskar's The View at Pepperrell Cove Wedding

Kathryn is a woman who knows what she wants, and when she attended a college party and spotted Oskar across the room, she said something to the effect of “he’s mine,” and to nobody’s surprise, she made it so. After Oskar proposed at Fort McClary in Kittery Point, Maine, it only made sense to bring their favorite people, who live all over (people traveled from Sweden and Alaska- there was debate as to who traveled the furthest) to that town to celebrate their love.

Kathryn and Oskar’s wedding was perfectly put together, which wasn’t a surprise as Kathryn went to school for hospitality. I especially loved Kathryn’s lily of the valley bouquet, which was sweet and impactful. The pair wed in the Strawbery Banke Museum‘s gardens in Portsmouth, NH, then Kathryn and Oskar hopped into a vintage car and crossed state lines to get to their reception site, The View at Pepper r ell Cove in Kittery Point, Maine.

Oskar and Kathryn greeted everyone via hug, and after a cocktail hour with the loveliest light everyone enjoyed dinner and a series of emotional toasts. Kathryn had shared with me that she had a surprise up her sleeve, but I wasn’t prepared for how awesome it was. Kathryn, you see, had written a letter to her future husband in 8th grade as an assignment, and read it in full. Everyone howled, cackled, clapped, and cheered, and turned to watch Oskar’s every reaction as she shared her teen insights into her future husband.

We ended the evening with wild dancing, aided by East Coast Soul‘s delightful music, and every inch of the dance floor was packed with eager friends and family who wanted to let loose and enjoy the evening.
