Adrienne & Rory’s Blue Hill Country Club Wedding
Adrienne thought it might rain on her wedding day, and even though I thought we might escape it (Wunderground predicted earlier that day the storm would miss us), Adrienne was right- the weather certainly didn’t spare us. The rain began, quite naturally, right before the ceremony was to begin. There was discussions amongst Adrienne, Rory, and their family, and finally a decision was made- the ceremony would be moved inside. And so Adrienne and Rory’s guests began to trudge their way to the indoor ceremony location at Blue Hill Country Club. But then.. the rain stopped, and a groomsman convinced Rory to change the plan AGAIN and have the ceremony outside. After all, how could they not? The spot where they had planned to have their wedding ceremony, overlooking the ocean, was beautiful. And so someone giddily called for everyone to turn back around, and before I knew it guests were booking it back to their seats, ready for Adrienne and Rory to tie the knot.
Of course, the rain began again the moment the ceremony started, but we weren’t going anywhere- the rain no longer mattered. Because even though it was a gray day, friends and family held brightly colored umbrellas and cheered as friends and family walked down the aisle, and the moment Adrienne and Rory took their places, smiling brightly, their day was filled with the kind of sunshine that every couple hopes and dreams will be present at their wedding.
Adrienne and Rory’s wedding was a day to remember; headed by Cassie of Olive and Co., it was an event their friends and family will never forget. From the stunning clear top tent, to the paintings of Blue Hill that guests received as favors, to the delectable and beautiful food and drink provided by Trillium Caterers, it was spectacular.
I especially enjoyed revisiting John Peters Estate (it was my all-time favorite wedding venue, but it is no longer used for events) during Adrienne and Rory’s first look. John Peters Estate was where Adrienne and Rory first met seven years ago, at a regatta, and so it felt fitting to do their portraits on the property.
Here’s a few of my favorite photos from Adrienne and Rory’s wedding day. Enjoy!
