Audrey & Brian’s Intimate Bar Harbor Wedding

Audrey and Brian had envisioned an outdoor ceremony and al fresco dining experience for their October intimate Bar Harbor wedding, but naturally the rainy forecast challenged this plan, as there was a solid chance of rain for the entire day. Despite the cruddy forecast, I’ve found that it’s usually best to treat forecasts optimistically. Lo and behold, the skies cleared for their ceremony, and while Audrey and Brian opted to play it safe and dine inside (a wise decision), the rain continued to hold off. It’s such a good feeling when everything works out on a wedding day!

While there are many unique Bar Harbor wedding venues to choose from, Audrey and Brian opted to instead rent an estate. This was the first time I had ever been to Redwood, and I believe this was the first wedding they ever hosted, but it was an incredible space that was perfect for an intimate wedding (and, should they host weddings in the future, the space could accommodate a tent, allowing for more guests..). Rachel of RL Sisson Events helped make the space perfect for a cozy wedding- from the candle-lit table, which glowed ever so prettily as the skies deepened, to the ceremony spot that overlooked the ocean, Audrey and Brian’s intimate wedding felt like a perfectly appointed day.

One of my favorite parts of the day were Audrey and Brian’s vows, which were perfection (would you expect anything less from two librarians?). Luckily, I was photographing as Audrey transcribed her vows into a notebook while getting ready, and I happened to capture one of my favorite lines: “I’m pretty undecided on the idea of an afterlife. But if there is a God, I pray that she’ll bring us back as two pieces of seaglass on the same beach.” Beautiful!

A special shout out to Bar Harbor Catering Company, who delivered an absolute feast. They’ve always been a favorite of mine, but I fell in love with their mocktail offering, For Fox’s Sake, which Brian encouraged me to try. Bravo, Bar Harbor Catering Company, Bravo! I hope to see more mocktails at weddings in the future.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from Audrey and Brian’s wedding- enjoy!
