Chris & Alison’s Quiet Side Acadia Elopement

While I’ve experienced some quirky weather as my time as a wedding and elopement photographer, Chris and Alison’s Acadia elopement featured some of the oddest weather I’ve ever experienced. During their ceremony, we experienced wind, sun, overcast skies, and the occasional sprinkle (which hadn’t been in the forecast). It was as if the weather gods had decided to thoroughly bless their wedding ceremony, and even though the experience was a bit surprising, their ceremony, which was beautifully plotted, still felt powerful. Alison and Chris incorporated a few unique elements to their elopement, and made sure each family member played an integral role- they passed around photos that showcased their childhood and the various stages of their relationship, held up cutouts of their cats, shared readings, a ring warming, and more. I really appreciated the gravity these elements provided, and made their union feel all the more special.

After the ceremony a quick moment was spent birding, binoculars at hand, and then everyone warmed up with cups of mulled apple cider. Once the cups were drained, we continued on with portraits, exploring a stunning trail on the quiet side of Acadia while the sun set.

Here are a few of my favorite photos of Chris and Alison- enjoy!
